Jason C. Ming

Jason Ming graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California, simultaneously receiving both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics in 1998. In 2001, Mr. Ming received his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. While in law school, Mr. Ming successfully represented indigent clients in civil proceedings at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and also worked with leaders from local community-based organizations (CBOs) to further economic development projects in various surrounding communities, including providing research, analyses, and negotiations support in meetings between CBOs and Dreamworks SKG. While in law school, Mr. Ming also worked for private law firms, handling business and real estate litigation and transactional matters, estate planning, and personal injury and premises liability cases.

Prior to joining our firm in 2011, Mr. Ming practiced law in the field of insurance defense, representing insureds of real estate title and professional liability insurance companies. Mr. Ming has also represented numerous financial institutions including credit unions such as Western Federal Credit Union, Foothill Federal Credit Union, and Altura Credit Union. In 2007, Mr. Ming was part of a two-attorney team that successfully defended a credit union from a lawsuit brought by its members alleging causes of action in breach of contract, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and invasion of privacy in response to the credit union’s widespread production of documents in an underlying lawsuit pursuant to a subpoena which had been narrowed in scope by agreement of counsel. The successful defense of the credit union resulted in a published opinion by the Court of Appeal which clarified the expansive scope of the litigation privilege and the extent to which the privilege operates to bar tort liability. The case law opinion, Foothill Federal Credit Union v. Superior Court (King) (2007) 155 Cal.App.4th 632, has since been discussed and presented in various legal industry newsletters and legal practice guides.
